This course aims to provide students with knowledge relating to variables which affect the physical attributes of bloodstain patterns during formation. Students will be exposed to examples such as surface texture, force/velocity, environmental conditions, volume, time, and other factors that may render an effect on the visible bloodstain pattern. Students will also be exposed to the physical properties of blood to further propel their understanding of the behavior of blood during stain formation. 
 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Develop an understanding of the fluid properties of blood
Identify variables that might have contributed in the physical appearance of a bloodstain pattern
Discuss the role surface texture, force/velocity, time, distance, and other variables have on pattern formation
